Recruitment and Selection Process 

Working in line with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulation 19, Croydon House ensures all requirements under this regulation are adhered to in full in the employment of staff. 

All staff have gone through our robust recruitment and selection processes with the full involvement of our service users and their families.


All staff records are securely stored under data protection Act and UK GDPR 2018. The service involves service users, their family members and carers in staff recruitment.

Our recruitment process involves identifying staff with beliefs and values that are consistent with the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) to ensure care is delivered in a person-centred way to people with mental health conditions.

All staff undertakes Enhanced Data Barring Service (DBS) checks and disclose any conviction.

Staff provides two professional references where one is the candidate's latest employer.


All staff provides a CV with no GAPs


Staff have training certificates and evidence-based experience for the role applied.

Staff have legal documents to authorise the candidate to live and work in the UK without any work-related restrictions that would be in bridge of any UK immigration rules or their visas. This could be in the form of a valid and up to date passport, biometrics card and /or visa.

Staff adhere to our policies and procedures, and all legal framework associated with their role and duties.

Staff receives service training and development programmes which ensures all staff are up to date with their training and competency in delivering effective care to our service users.

  • Access to Mental Health and other Services

    Our service users can access Mental Health. Services and other clinical and emergency services whenever they need them and receive

     appropriate information about what happens next when they are referred to Mental Health

    Services.


  • Assessment, Formulation & Diagnosis

    Our service users have an assessment undertaken

    including personal safety assessment where appropriate, and mitigations are in placed where

    relevant, in a timely manner.


  • Personal Well-being Planning

    With consent, our service users jointly develop and receive a Personal Wellbeing Plan (PWP), which includes a Personal Safety Plan where appropriate

  • Care & Treatment

    Our service users receive appropriate care and treatment according to their assessed needs and will review with staff their progress against their Personal Wellbeing Plan on a regular basis.

  • Staying Engaged & Self-Management

    Service users are involved in their own

    self-management and any decision to discharge them from Mental Health Services and informed on how to re-enter services when they need to do so. Advance Healthcare Solutions will always ask service users and their family/carers for feedback about their care experience to improve quality of service.


Training Matrix

Croydon House provides robust training for staff; all care givers have a minimum of NVQ level 3-4 in Health & Social Care. We also provide specialist training to all staff, our training matrix which is updated regularly ensures all staff are up to date with all training and CPD to carry out their duties effectively.

All staff will undertake an induction training and be introduced to service users before commencement of duties including; Policy and Procedures, Person-centred Care, Safeguarding and Preparing to Work in Care.
